Teaching and Researching
The course design of the section aims to exhibit rich and vibrant styles and appearances of Chinese literature, allowing students to have in-depth exploration regarding the realm of truth, goodness, beauty in the Chinese culture and experience its developing vitality. Apart from cooperating with the teaching objectives, the selection of teaching materials is also adjusted based on different characteristics of learners. For the Chinese teaching in the four-year technical program, the classical prose accounts for 70% of the teaching materials, and modern literature, classical verse, and other types of work account for 30%. For the two-year technical program, literature appreciation other than classical prose accounts for 70% to 80%. Furthermore, focuses are also addressed to lecturing and practices for practical writing (including official documents and letters).
Future Development
Ⅰ. To improve the teaching performance, the section will carry out investigations regarding the language proficiency requirements of nursing students and nursing staff and prepare specialized Chinese teaching materials for nursing schools based on the historical teaching experiences.
Ⅱ. When the funding is sufficient, the section plans to slowly set up a Chinese Literature and Resource Room to provide references for faculties and students of NTUNHS.
