Learning Plan for English Courses

1. Introduction
To provide appropriate English learning content for students with different level of English proficiency, English proficiency placement test is made through the entrance ability exam for freshmen, and different levels of English teaching are provided according to the placement standards established by the Office of Academic Affairs.

二、 Methods of Placement Test & Placement Standards
The “TOEIC” testing model is adopted for the entrance placement test for freshmen with 100 questions for listening test and 100 questions for reading test.

3. Course Arrangement

Content, teaching materials, and schedule of courses will be exhibited in the syllabi of lecturers. Courses for the four-year technical program in sequence, from easy to difficult, are as follows:

English 1  →  English 2  →  Advanced English  →  Workplace English  →  High Advanced English  →  English Presentation /English Speech and Communication  → News English/ Advanced News English  →  English Project Briefing

4. Application for Advanced Standing of English Courses

Upon entrance, when freshmen are able to provide the high intermediate-to-advanced certificate of English exams (or equivalent achievements in other English exams), students will be able to apply for the exemption for the English courses. For the 8 outstanding credits (mandatory credits), they may elect relevant language courses in National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS), or NTUNHS may provide consultancy in taking relevant language courses in other schools.
