Individual educational targets of “Chinese 1 and 2” and “Intermediate Chinese” -
Chinese 1: Lay a profound reading foundation.
Chinese 2: Develop general expressing capacity.
Advanced Chinese: Fully understand the language and expressing knowledge and capacity.

Course teaching objectives of “Chinese 1” -
1. Improve students’ abilities in reading and appreciating classic or modern and contemporary works.
2. Cultivate students’ interests in reading and appreciating classic or modern and contemporary works, and improve their possession and understanding to the background, cultural and historical knowledge of works.
3. Improve students’ understanding to society, culture, and arts and nurture students’ cultural literacy and spirits of human sympathy.
4. Train students’ language expression abilities in terms of writing, creation, or speaking and attempt to carry out brainstorming and application of diversity.
5. Cultivate students’ abilities to make response for different requirements, including abilities to make flexible expressions and paraphrasing for the connection between different programs and further studies and upon entering the society in the future.
6. Provide guidelines for students to be equipped with mature attitudes, abilities of communication and negotiation, rational thinking, and life-long autonomous learning.

Course teaching objectives of “Chinese 2” -
1. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works, provide further foundation for students’ knowledge and assist students’ in nurturing their virtues of patience and personalities.
2. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works, further improve student’s abilities in language expression and work valuation.
3. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works, further trigger students’ potentials of evaluation and analysis and improve student’s culture literacy.
4. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works, strengthen the knowledge integration abilities in terms of historical, artistic, and literature aspects.
5. Exert the featured “joyful education and neighborliness” spirits of National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS) and guide students to understand the beauty of life and culture through the elegant base tone of the selected works.
6. Continue providing guidelines for students so they can be equipped with mature affairs-handling attitudes, abilities of communication and negotiation, rational thinking, and life-long autonomous learning.

Course teaching objectives of “Advanced Chinese” -
1. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works selected by the course, improve the appreciation abilities of students in the two-year technical program regarding literature works.
2. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works selected by the course, improve the ability of students in the two-year technical program in collecting relevant data for in-depth reading.
3. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works selected by the course, improve the diverse language expression abilities of students in the two-year technical program.
4. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works selected by the course, improve the logical thinking abilities of students in the two-year technical program and reinforce their integration abilities regarding knowledge of historical, artistic, and literature aspects.
5. Through the appreciation of classic or modern and contemporary works selected by the course, cultivate the life care and cultural spirits of students in the two-year technical program, and in turn, improve their professional ethical literacy.
6. Providing guidelines for students in the two-year technical program for them to be equipped with mature affairs-handling attitudes, abilities of communication and negotiation, rational thinking, and life-long autonomous learning.
